PACKING
Be prepared in case your bags get lost. It really does happen, particularly if you connect through a European city.
Always take a carryon bag with enough stuff to last you several days and always put things that are not easily replaceable in your carryon (like your dance shoes, your art supplies, etc.).
Do check your airline’s website for carryon restrictions. Wine, even though new and completely sealed, cannot be brought back in your carryon.
PACK LIGHTLY! You have to be able to schlep all your own bags, including up and down stairs, as frequently there are no ramps or elevators in Italy.
